Beauty and brilliance of diamonds take centre stage at JGW Singapore

Prestigious diamantaires, major jewellery manufacturers join Asia’s biggest B2B sourcing event of the year

HONG KONG, 28 July 2022 – Prominent names in the diamond world will showcase their brilliance at Asia’s top B2B jewellery sourcing destination of the year – Jewellery & Gem WORLD Singapore (JGW Singapore).

Taking place at the Singapore EXPO from 27 to 30 September, JGW Singapore is bringing together close to 1,000 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions, including some of the biggest names in the diamond industry.

The iconic show, formerly known as the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, is temporarily moving from Hong Kong to Singapore this year to make the event as accessible as possible to international exhibitors and visitors. Unlike Hong Kong, where mandatory quarantine for incoming travellers remains in effect, Singapore allows fully vaccinated visitors to enter the country without pre-departure tests, on-arrival tests and quarantine

The one-off venue change has received overwhelming support from exhibitors. Due to increased demand for exhibition space, the fair has added 5,000 square metres to the reserved gross floor area, taking the show to 35,000 square metres. Prior to the Singapore show, Informa Markets Jewellery is organising a special-edition fair in Hong Kong from 16 to 19 September tailored for local trade buyers and jewellery lovers. The full-scale version of JGW will return to Hong Kong in 2023.

Spectacular diamonds

The September Fair has always been renowned for its diamond showcases, which cover the full spectrum of the sector. Buyers looking for fine stones will find perfectly cut, flawless diamonds – either loose or set in precious metal – and in a range of hues, including the rarest of fancy colour diamonds at the Diamond zone and other locations throughout the show, including Premier, Finished Jewellery, and country, regional and industry association pavilions.

Fine diamonds, especially exceptional stones, are the domain of Antwerp-based Taché Company N V. One of the leading diamond companies in the world, the manufacturer is ready to impress JGW Singapore visitors with its wide range of quality goods, including certified stones, melees and fancy colour diamonds. This comes as no surprise given Taché’s experience in dealing with exceptional diamonds, including the 342-carat “Queen of Kalahari,” the 910-carat “Lesotho Legend” and the 29.59-carat fancy pink diamond, “The Rose of Kao.”

“All of our diamonds are sourced mainly from primary producers,” the company said. Headquartered in Antwerp since 1957, Taché has multiple sales offices and diamond factories, and operates a global distribution network. Its activities range from rough diamond sourcing and manufacturing to the marketing and distribution of polished diamonds.

Another major diamond manufacturer that will have a presence at the fair is Sheetal (Far East) Limited, which is showcasing its inventory of certified and non-certified diamonds. The company is part of the Sheetal Group, one of the largest volume manufacturers of polished diamonds in the world with headquarters in India, and a distribution network spread across Botswana, China, Dubai, Europe, Hong Kong and the US.

“[JGW Singapore] is a premier trading hub and a good platform for our organisation to do business. It is also the ideal springboard for the booming markets of the Far East. The fair provides Sheetal with numerous opportunities to highlight its diamond manufacturing expertise to a global audience,” according to the company.

The diamond manufacturer is offering professional buyers goods in a wide range of shapes, in sizes ranging from 1 point to 10 carats, and in D-M colours to fancy colours.

“Our Ideal cut and bespoke cuts have enabled the company to lock in a strong distribution partnership with some of the world’s leading retailers and jewellery manufacturers,” Sheetal said.
